BETWEEN WHAT HAS LEFT ME AND WHAT IS STILL TO COME -TRA CIO’ CHE MI HA LASCIATO E CIO’ CHE DEVE ARRIVARE
Between what has left me and what is still to come there’s me.
My rough edges have crumbled away; I’ve become liquid and fill every space, I seep into everything.
I, a labourer working on myself, knocking down walls, rebuilding, feeling my presence strongly. At times this can be uncomfortable for some people who leave but this no longer matters to me.
I who can now see myself and touch myself inside. I have become consistent and leave clear traces of my path for those who want to walk beside me.
I, sensitive and perceptive. I, armed and without armour. I, who look people straight in the eye and further down. Nobody can live inside me anymore; they are only guests.
I who didn’t know how to pronounce “self”.
I, unknown and unrecognizable, by now, to those who paid no attention.
I, who now can count my fears on the fingers of my hands and who no longer closes my eyes in front of mirrors, wherever I come across them.
Between what has left me and what is still to come there’s no space nor waiting, because everything is already inside, I can feel it, and takes shape and moves like every form of life does with the coming of a new season.
